A US spokesman said Thursday that the US does not support Turkey’s proposal to attack northern Iraq and that a strike will not resolve Turkey’s terrorism problem.

This is all the more reason that there be an independant Kurdistan.
In that way, issues will be addressed and identified.
The Kurds want their own country.
If they want to have their own country they need to respect the Turkish border.
The world community needs to be involved, ideally through the UN ,and make turkey and Kurdistan play nicely.
